Jools, Toni and Julie are all members of the N.C.M.A.
Our setting is expanding and we will have a larger outdoor space and new toilet storage facilities very soon. We are upgrading the kitchen area too. all being well.
We have a strictly no smacking or any type of punishment policy. The children are never shouted at only told by explanation. They are given boundaries and consistency, and also learn by example how to behave. We have our own policies of which parents/carers receive a copy, some of which can be seen here. We have our own contracts and parents are given all the relevant forms to fill in i.e. consent forms and info sheets. A prospectus is also available if you would like one.
Parents are welcome to phone or call at any time while their child is at Tiny ToTs Childminders. We have a very good security system, a camera to see who callers are and an intercom so we know who is at the door before we open it.
We also have a webcam for parents to access when their child is at Tiny ToTs. Parents have to answer 2 security questions before they are allowed on the system, and this is available all day for parents/carers wishing to use it.
Each child also has their own file of crafts, assessments, learning journeys etc. Also each baby up to 3 years has a diary. Each child has a scrap book of their own too. They get to keep these when they are full. Each parent gets to keep discs of photos of their child.
We also send photos for mums of new babies/ children via phone picture message to reassure mums/ dads visually.
We also run a six monthly newsletter updating parents on our progress with the children and any forthcoming events in our calendar etc.
We all have full driving licenses and business insurance on vehicles.

The fire Brigade came in May 2010 and renewed all our smoke/ fire alarms.

We use appropriate child seats when travelling in the vehicles.

We use safety harnesses and appropriate child safety equipment when out and about.

We always carry refreshments, a first aid kit and parent contact details with us.

We have specific learning areas set out for the children to enhance the EYFS Principles and Outcomes.

We change these areas and adding resources all the time to stimulate the interests of the children.

An example of our week:

Mondays we run our own toddler group where we take the children.
Tuesday we take the children to a soft play centre.
Wednesday we go to the music session at Kinderland.
Thursday is a free day.
Friday we go to Little Monkeys.

Although we take the children out and about most days we do take them to other places of interest as well including museums, parks, swimming baths in the summer holidays.

We go to the seaside once a year during the summer holidays using the buses and trains.

A small charges are made to cover entrance of some of the outings.

Every day is flexible and if the children do not want to go out then they do not have to. We take advantage of things that may occur such as snow, rain, birthdays and special festivals.

The children do lots of crafts, painting and baking every week as well as going out and about.

Most Importantly - The children interests are met with regard to the individual needs of each child.
